Successful Dutch Tour Readies Football Boys
Thursday, 01 September 2011
On Monday 29 August, 31 boys in Years 11-13 embarked on a 4 day pre-season training camp in Doorweth, Holland. The boys took part in two daily training sessions, held at the Dutch National Olympic training village in Papendal. This is also the training facility used by local Eredivisie professional team Vitesse Arnhem.
The boys went through a rigorous training programme which also included two fixtures against local amateur opposition. Bolton School came out victorious in both games, winning 1-0 and 3-1. The trip was an excellent opportunity for the boys to improve their fitness levels whilst also giving the staff involved the chance to see new and old faces in action ahead of the new season.
Throughout the week the boys conducted themselves superbly and it was felt by all that the trip had been a worthwhile venture.
