"There is no doubt this is a very special school with fantastic facilities and fantastic teachers who make all the difference. It's just a shame that every school in the country cannot be like Bolton School."

Contestants in this year’s Y7 Gymnastics Final at Bolton School Boys’ Division exhibited some of the most impressive balances and travelling movements in recent years. Eight boys competed against one another in a dramatic final played out in front of the whole year group and their teachers.

The PE staff judging the competition were given a tough task as each pupil performed their six movements and balances in a number of almost flawless routines. The eventual winner was Kevin Longthorne, who was given one of the oldest cups in the School, the competition having run for over 100 years. Mr Coffey handed out second prize to Tom Griffiths and the bronze medal to James Bowie. All boys received a certificate for making it to the final.
