"When I return to Bolton School to talk to pupils about entrepreneurship, my message is to 'go for it'. This is an attitude that I had instilled in me during my time at the school where my curiosity was fuelled and I became interested in ideas."

Introduction to Ball Skills for Primaries

Wednesday, 02 October 2013

Over 70 Year 1 and 2 pupils from nine local primary schools from across the region took part in a Ball Skills Festival at Bolton School.

Teams of eight children took part in different activities ranging from sports such as football, hockey, and tennis to throwing events. Year 8 helpers from the Boys’ Division were on hand to offer encouragement and to help the afternoon run smoothly. Schools picked up points as they took part in each event and every child that took part received a certificate.

The aim of the event was to give the children a flavour of the different skills used across different sports. All the schools that took part demonstrated real sportsmanship and team work as they made use of the resources and facilities at the School.

Organiser of the event, Chris Windsor, said:"It was great to see so many year 1 and 2 children trying out new skills and participating in team sports. The standard from all the Schools was extremely high too!"
