National Water Polo Success

The Bolton School U14 water polo team has won through to the English Schools final by finishing first overall in the qualifiers at Walsall Pool.
The boys beat St Bede’s 5-0, Dulwich College 3-1 and drew 4-4 with King Edwards' School Birmingham in the final game after being 4-0 down. Goals from Tom Daly, Will Plant and two from Captain David Price, brought Bolton level with seconds to go. They qualified top of the group on goal difference.
The final will be held in Walsall on Saturday 11 May.
As well as the U14 team reaching the ESSA finals, Bolton School boys are heavily represented in both the U16 and the U18 City of Manchester Water Polo Club teams who have both won national titles! At the ASA British Gas Age Group Water Polo Finals, the U16s won their final 20-6 against Solihull and the U18s won 9-4 against Birmingham. All four City of Manchester Water Polo Club squads won their ASA finals, making it a clean sweep for the club. Bolton School Coach, Andy McGinty, coached the U16 team and assistant coached the U18s. He said: “It has been some years since this has been achieved in all age groups. It is a staggering achievement for the club.”
