Old Boy Cricketers Enjoy a Prosperous Summer
Tuesday, 25 August 2015
Several recent leavers have enjoyed a successful summer of cricket.
On Friday 21 August, Haseeb Hameed, who received his A level results earlier in the month, made his debut for Lancashire, scoring a solid 28 in their only innings against Glamorgan in a match which ended as a draw. He also captained the England U19 side in a 4 day Test Match against Australia at Durham. He was joined in the England team by another former Bolton School pupil, Matthew Parkinson; the pair of them bowled in tandem and the latter was mentioned by David LLoyd on Sky Sports as being one of the best three young leg spinners in the country.
Elsewhere, Callum Parkinson continued to make progress with Derbyshire CCC Academy and has also been interesting the England U19 selectors. Callum Kay - former School captain - is one of the leading run scorers currently in the Lancashire League for Ramsbottom CC.
