"The best thing I can say of the school was that it worked. It embedded in me habits of reading and thinking as well as an enduring curiosity about just about everything."

Parallel Oreos Interviewed on BBC Radio Lancashire

Monday, 02 February 2015

Two members of Year 10 band Parallel Oreos appeared on BBC Radio Lancashire this weekend.

Adam Critchlow and George Morgan were interviewed by Sean McGinty on his Saturday evening show ‘Introducing in Lancashire’, which brings listeners the best new music from the region. They fielded questions about their musical inspirations, the band’s unusual name, and the formation of the band, which also includes Jay Harland and Hassaan Hussain who watched their bandmates record the interview.

The boys talked about how the Bolton School Music Department has been particularly good at allowing them opportunities to perform in School, which has then led to more gigs at weddings, parties and events – including two appearances at the Roadhouse in Manchester. They also mentioned that their music is available on Soundcloud and YouTube, and their first single is now available on iTunes.

The Parallel Oreos’ next gig is on Friday the 6th of February at Factory 251 in Manchester, where they will be performing alongside fellow Bolton School pupils Fight the Silence. This has come about after the enormous success of winning last year’s Battle of the Bands.

Sean ended the interview by playing the latest Parallel Oreos track, ‘Falling’.
