Past and Present Pupils in National Water Polo Triumph

Saturday, 14 May 2016

This weekend, the City of Manchester Water Polo Club won the Men’s British Championship in Gloucester beating the defending champions and British League Champions Cheltenham in the final.

Of Manchester’s thirteen man squad, five were Old Boys of Bolton School and one was a current pupil. The team was captained by former pupil Charles Booth and also included Old Boys Rob Rae, Ed Scott, Aaron Winstanley and Ben Riding as well as current Year 12 pupil Ben Ray. It was the first time the club has won the championship. Former pupil Andy Crawford played for and captained Bristol Central to the bronze, who Manchester overcame in the semi-final.
