"The classic Bolton School combination is hard work, good friends, challenging and thought-provoking teaching, a healthy desire to puncture the self-important and the sense that you can work hard to achieve things in life. "

Paul Selected For National ISFA U16 Team

Wednesday, 02 December 2015

Year 11 pupil Paul Foster has been selected for the Independent Schools’ Football Association (ISFA) U16 National Team.

He was one of six Bolton School pupils to be sent to the North trials, and was eventually chosen to captain the team. After playing three matches against Bury, Preston and Oldham, the North team clashed with the corresponding South side. With the ISFA national team managers looking on, there was all to play for, and despite the North team’s 3-1 loss, Paul was one of four Northern players selected for the National team.

On December 16, Paul will join up with the rest of the ISFA U16s at St George’s Park, the England team’s training ground, for two days of intensive training and football matches against Ipswich and Leicester. The team will then go on tour in April 2016.

Talking about his selection, Paul said, “I’m very excited and very proud to have the opportunity to play for the ISFA U16s.”
