Pupils Excel at Classics Reading Competition

Five Boys’ Division students placed in the top two at the recent Classics Reading Competition held at Cheadle Hulme School. The competition asked pupils to read a passage in front of an audience, with categories for Ancient Greek, Latin and Classics in Translation.

In the Greek GCSE competition, the overall winner was Thomas Britton in Year 10, while his fellow Year 10 pupil Thomas Higham took second place.

Year 12 student Matthew Schaffel won the Latin A Level competition.

The Classics in Translation was won by Max Maloney from Year 13, while Year 10 pupil Umar Ibrahim achieved second place.

All of the Bolton School competitors performed well and those five who finished with podium positions are to be congratulated on their achievements in this challenging area.
