"Pupils are encouraged to volunteer, to lead, to perform, to try new things, to move outside their comfort zone and they emerge as fine, rounded, honourable young adults equipped to thrive and succeed wherever life takes them."

Samba Lessons for Gilnow Primary

Friday, 23 January 2015

Pupils from Gilnow Primary School have enjoyed participating in several sessions at Bolton School learning about samba music. They attended the Arts Centre sessions as part of the Community Action project and their music-making culminated in a performance of a completely memorised samba to the whole of Gilnow Primary School during assembly.

This performance was very well received and further pupils immediately ‘signed up’ to participate in future classes!

The sessions were enthusiastically led by Boys' Division music teacher Mr Forgrieve, who was supported by Mrs Gaskell from Gilnow Primary School.
