Bolton School Senior Boys

School Swim Team’s Amazing Record

The Bolton School Swim Team has not lost in a competition for the past 3 years. This has included competitive swimming galas every single week from September to May each year. The swimming matches are against highly ranked aquatics school such as Stockport Grammar, Hulme Oldham, Bury Grammar School, Sandbach, Ripley St Thomas and Manchester Grammar School (MGS).

Local rivals, Manchester Grammar School was the last team to beat Bolton but that was 3 years' ago. Competition is always fierce - in 2012 the gala was drawn with Manchester and Bolton finishing on identical points which is very unusual. In 2012, Bolton won away at MGS by a single point in the last race! This year Bolton won by over 25 points. This highlighted the development and continued strength in swimming at Bolton School.

Along with the impressive performances in the matches, the School has also won the prestigious John Parry Relay Championship in 2012 and has qualified for the English Schools' Swimming Association (ESSA) Championships which will take place at Crystal Palace later this year.

The swim team continues to have excellent participation numbers and with a large squad of such strength, we are able to consistently swim different boys each week. This includes a superb 16 boys from Year 7 alone who have represented Bolton School at swimming this year.

We hope to continue this great record with a home gala to Bury Grammar School this Tuesday and a tough away match against Stockport next Tuesday.

The swim team is run by Mr Windsor, Mr Howard and Mr Proctor.
