"When I return to Bolton School to talk to pupils about entrepreneurship, my message is to 'go for it'. This is an attitude that I had instilled in me during my time at the school where my curiosity was fuelled and I became interested in ideas."

Strictly Bolton School!

Monday, 09 May 2011

Bolton School pupils, teachers, parents and friends took over the Arts Centre and danced the night away in their very own version of the BBC's popular television show 'Strictly Come Dancing'.  View the teaser promotional films here and  here.

With the School's Swing Band and Guitar Group providing the musical entertainment and with Mrs Fielding acting as MC, a series of dances were performed by members of the School's cross-divisional lunchtime Dance Club, before guests were invited to partake of a group dance and a Barn Dance. However the highlight of the sell-out event was the eagerly-awaited teachers' contest which pitted three pairs of the Boys' Division teaching staff against one another in a dance-off! Mr Hobbiss and Miss Gorner picked up the much-coveted trophy with the scoring of the staff presided over by pupils acting the roles of judges Len, Alesha, Bruno and Craig; perhaps most memorable was Adam Woolley's impersonation of Bruce Forsyth!

The event proved to be a splendid evening of fun for all who attended and plans are already afoot for next year's 'Strictly Bolton School' evening.
