Twins Celebrate GCSE Success

  • BD GCSE Results Day De Blainsin Twins KKP-000560

Twins Joseph and Oliver De Blainsin celebrated their excellent sets of GCSE results. Oliver received four 9s, four A*s and three 8s, while his brother Joseph received five 9s, two A*s, two As, one 8 and one 7.

Oliver said, We were in friendly competition with each other but could test each other because we were doing the same subjects.

The two will go on to studying history, geography, biology and maths at the Schools sixth form.

Mr Philip Britton, Headmaster, said: “It is always good to celebrate achievement with the boys when they do their first external exams at GCSE. The results represent years of hard work and study and investing the time to develop good working habits that will serve them well through life. There are achievements to celebrate at all levels, from a hard won pass in a subject found challenging to the large numbers achieving the new elite grade 9 at GCSE.”

Bolton School Boys’ Division pupils performed well with one in three results graded at grade 8 or 9. 18% of boys achieved at least 10 A*/A or 9-7 grades. In the new grading system, grades 9 to 7 are broadly equivalent to the old A* to A grades.
