U12s Football Team Win Town Cup

In a thrilling Town Cup final, Bolton School Boys' Division U12s' football team overcame Turton High School 4-3 in an action packed second half.

After a goalless first half Bolton quickly opened the scoring after the re-start, only to find themselves quickly pegged back.  And so began a dramatic second-half which ended up 2-2 and enthralled the large crowd. 

Turton took the lead in extra-time, Bolton found an equaliser before going on to win the game with a late penalty,  Sheer perseverance combined with equal measures of skill had seen the home team finally win through.  It is the fifth time in the last seven years that the School has won this trophy. 

The School also played host to the other Town Cup age group finals in an afternoon of wonderful football.  In the U13s final St Joseph's beat Turton, St James' beat St Joseph's at the U14 level and Turton beat St Joseph's in a thrilling penalty shoot out in the U15s cup.
