U13s Join North-West Water Polo Team After Trophy Win
Monday, 23 November 2015
The Year 8 water polo team took part in the annual President’s Trophy tournament at the weekend. They emerged victorious after playing matches against rival teams from schools around the north-west.
Seven of the players were also selected to join the North-West team for the upcoming ASA U13 Inter-Regional Championships, where they will face teams from the Midlands, East, North East, London, South West and Scotland.
The North West Tigers A Team will be captained by Chris Rhodes in Year 9. He is joined by fellow Year 9 pupil Ben Turner and Thomas Yates from Year 8.
Year 8 pupil Jensen Myerscough will captain the North West Ravens B Team, joined by his Year 8 teammates Pierce Barker-Smith, Daniel Bentham, Ben Jayasekera and Tom Simpson. Eleven-year-old Harry Bentham in Year 7 will play up by two age categories to join his brother Daniel on the North West Ravens Team, and Year 9 pupil Guy Storey has also been selected.
Bolton School pupils have therefore been selected for ten of the twenty-four positions, and the School has supplied both the A and B Team captains. This is a fantastic achievement for the School’s young water polo players.
