Bolton School Senior Boys

Arts and Culture

Arts and Cultural activities are a staple of the ‘all round’ education at Bolton School. The Boys’ Division is an Artsmark Platinum school and a partner in Bolton’s Cultural Education Partnership. All Year 7 boys are guided through the Bronze level of the Arts Award, and older pupils (Years 10-12) are encouraged to continue the programme with the Silver qualification. Boys engage with creativity through regular concerts and drama productions, opportunities to take part in activities surrounding local and national events and celebrations (such as Bolton Film Festival, Shakespeare Week and National Storytelling Week), and through involvement in clubs like the Young Artists’ Collective (YAC). Cultural and creative activities are also given a place within the timetable as part of the boys’ fortnightly SPACE afternoons: enrichment afternoons focussing upon social, physical, practical, active, aesthetically-engaged, cultural and enterprising activities.

This gallery of images includes both outstanding artwork by past students and Arts Award initiatives. Photos of Boys’ Division and Joint drama productions (as well as musical events) can be found here.
