The Parents’ Association assists the Careers Department at Bolton School with recruiting volunteer parents to help with the Interview Skills evenings for Year 12 pupils (age 17) in June each year.
Volunteers are asked to conduct a mock interview with a pupil, where possible matched for intended career path, based on a CV prepared in advance by the pupil. Each interview lasts a maximum of 30 minutes, and you will be asked to give verbal feedback to the pupil at the end of their interview. There are two evening sessions, running from 7pm to 9pm, with a buffet tea served beforehand.
This experience is invaluable for the pupils, who are about to embark on university choices and other career options. It is an enjoyable evening, and an ideal opportunity for you to share your advice about, and expertise derived from, the world of work that awaits them.
