"When I return to Bolton School to talk to pupils about entrepreneurship, my message is to 'go for it'. This is an attitude that I had instilled in me during my time at the school where my curiosity was fuelled and I became interested in ideas."

A Night for Jennifer

Monday, 18 November 2013

The Jennifer Charity, founded by Graham and James Edgington, held a fund-raising dinner at the Last Drop Hotel on Saturday, 16th November. Set up to support widowed fathers and their children, it is the only charity in the UK that specifically supports families found in this position.

Bolton School year 11 student, Alexandra Hopkinson, and local photographer and Old Boy, Mark Power, were both involved in the event. Having recently performed at the Local Hero Awards for Tower FM, Wish FM and Wire FM, Alexandra was invited on the recommendation of Jon Holling (a Tower FM presenter) to play the harp during the pre-dinner drinks reception for the event. Mark photographed the event for the organisers, probably better known to some of you as the act "Father and Son" who took part in Britain's Got Talent in 2010. The event was also attended by James Michael from the X-Factor and 90's hit vocalist Angie Brown.
