Olympic medal-winning gymnast Beth Tweddle dropped into Prestolee Primary School as part of an event organised by the Bolton School P.E. Programme.
This Programme is working with schools across the region to help them to provide high-quality physical education to pupils. Among other events, it has involved organising the town’s last two swimming galas, both attended by Olympian Rebecca Adlington! Beth’s visit to Prestolee Primary School was the result of a partnership between Bolton School and Total Gymnastics, Beth’s Gymnastics Academy.
Mr Anthony Turner, the Bolton School PE Programme Manager, said, “We were all delighted to see Beth at this event. It was a fantastic occasion which highlighted the work of all the pupils at Prestolee Primary School and also showed fully how the partnership between Bolton School and key partners can provide wonderful sporting opportunities through events of the highest quality.
“Beth Tweddle’s visit was the final event in an eight-week programme of gymnastics at Prestolee Primary School. The event was part of Bolton School’s work with schools across the region in providing high quality PE activities ranging from traditional sports to aquatics to outdoor adventure. Beth Tweddle immersed herself fully in the day, starting off events and handing out awards and certificates.”
Beth’s visit really inspired the children to continue to work hard at their gymnastics, and made a great highlight to the P.E. Programme at Prestolee Primary School.
