Brains of Bolton

Thursday, 26 April 2012

Claypool Primary School from Horwich was the inaugural winners of the Bolton School Big Quiz for local primary schools. Twelve teams had pitted their wits against one another over the course of 11 testing rounds, which covered everything from entertainment to maths puzzles and from sequencing skills to fruit and vegetable knowledge!

The quiz was organised by teachers from Bolton School and the quizmaster on the night was Mr James Rich.  In his concluding remarks, Mr Rich said: "I have been really impressed by how well each team has done and the final result was remarkably close, so much so, that if there had been another round, it would have been possible for the team in last position to catch the team in first!"

The twelve school teams, comprising six girls and boys from Years 4 and 5, were from Altrincham Prep, Bishop Bridgeman, Blackrod Primary, Bolton School Junior Girls' School, Chorley New Road, Clarendon Road, Claypool, Devonshire Road, Egerton, St Philip's Church of England and Sunning Hill.
