"The best thing I can say of the school was that it worked. It embedded in me habits of reading and thinking as well as an enduring curiosity about just about everything."

Competition to Sell Sweet Treats Aids LivLife

Monday, 07 April 2014

The Year 7 girls have been competing to see whose sweet treat stall was the best at tempting Girls' Division pupils!

Each form was given a particular day to set up a stall. They then had to entice as many pupils as possible through their form room door during break and lunch time. There were many mouth-watering choices on offer: a wide variety of sweets from marshmallows to tubes of sherbet, both home-made and shop-bought fairy cakes and slices of sponge cake, cans of soft drinks, crisps, chocolate, and even popcorn! The older pupils flocked into the Year 7 form rooms, packing them to bursting point to buy what was on offer.

The friendly competition was organised to aid LivLife, a charity which helps to provide free and relevant education and vocational opportunities to poor communities in Tanzania. All of the money raised through the individual sales will be donated - and from the number of girls who took advantage of the stalls, it should be a significant amount.

The girls and now anxiously waiting to hear the total amount raised for the charity, and are of course itching to find out which form won the competition!
