"When I return to Bolton School to talk to pupils about entrepreneurship, my message is to 'go for it'. This is an attitude that I had instilled in me during my time at the school where my curiosity was fuelled and I became interested in ideas."

Digital Archive Expands

Wednesday, 12 November 2014

Bolton School’s Digital Archive has now been expanded. The range of items available has been extended to include Girls’ Division Newsletters 1991-2013 and Boys’ Division Newsletters 2000-2013. Old Girls’ Magazines 1995-2013 and Old Boys’ Magazines 1998-2013 have also been digitised and are available for perusal.

The Archive first became available in August 2014, and initially provided access to every copy of the School’s magazines, which offer reviews of each academic year. The girls’ Magazine was first printed in April 1893. The Boltonian, the boys’ magazine, was first printed in May 1899. Both give a fascinating insight into the School's history and traditions.

Online editions of each publication are accessible on the Digital Archive website, and are open to anyone with an interest in the School. The contents are fully searchable by year, journal, keyword, or category (e.g. music or sport).

For further information about the School’s archives, please contact the School Archivist, Mr E Fairweather (email: ef@boltonschool.org).
