Ten aspiring Year 6 mathematicians at Lostock Primary School have had their learning bolstered by attending after school classes with Bolton School Girls’ Division Senior School Maths teachers, Mr Wrigley and Miss Doran.  The extra tuition, focussing on talented youngsters, aims to further improve their grades when they sit this summer’s National Curriculum Assessments.

Reflecting on the Spring Term sessions, Mr Wrigley said: “They are a lovely group of pupils, very enthusiastic and a credit to their school. The staff at Lostock has been very good to us too; very friendly and welcoming. We have worked on a variety of topics which include percentages, BIDMAS, basic algebra and problem solving. It’s really great to see a group of younger pupils give up their time to attend extra maths classes.”
