The annual Bonfire Night fireworks display organised by the Girls’ Division PA was once again a bustling evening of fun. Titanium Fireworks, the company responsible for the London New Year and Edinburgh Hogmanay fireworks, returned to Bolton School to provide another spectacular themed display.

The event this year was titled ‘Fantastic Feasts and Fireworks’ and had a Harry Potter theme, with many pupils choosing to don wizard or witch robes for the occasion. There were stalls with games where pupils could ‘Free Dobby’ or ‘Splat Scabbers’ and even the opportunity to try on the Sorting Hat!

The introduction of VIP parking and a ‘Hogsmeade’ Food Court were both popular additions this year. In ‘Hogsmeade’, Indian street food, barbeque, wood fired pizzas and churros were on offer, and doors to the ‘Leaky Cauldron’ – otherwise known as the Girls’ Division Dining Hall – were thrown open as usual to provide traditional treats like Parkin, Carr’s pasties and black peas. There were also more stalls inside, where Young Enterprise groups and the two Senior School Parents’ Associations were selling their wares.

The School gates opened earlier than ever to give everyone plenty of time to pick up food, browse the stalls and enjoy the fun games on offer.

A fabulous display from Titanium Fireworks was the perfect finale to the event. Timed to match a magical medley of music, the fireworks lit up the skies above the School field to the delight of the crowd gathered on the netball courts below.
