A group of year 7 and 8 girls was delighted to attend an all access tour of Bolton Wanderers’ newly named Macron Stadium.
The pupils were thrilled to be able to see the pitch from where it is filmed, to visit the Chairman’s suite, to hold a meeting in an executive box, sit in both changing rooms and finally to be given the opportunity to run out of the tunnels and be awarded their medals for successful completion of the football club course run by Bolton Wanderers’ Community Trust (BWCT) and held at Bolton School.
Miss Lauren Reynolds, their football coach, said: “The girls were really surprised to see the difference in facilities in the home and away changing rooms. The home changing rooms were luxurious whereas the away changing rooms looked as if they were designed for the Sunday league teams! We learnt that this is a way to unsettle the competition prior to the game. Great fun was had by all during the visit and we really appreciate BWCT for their support with the girls’ football.”
