"Personally I attribute a significant part of my success to my Bolton School education and the superb foundation it provided. It is the reason why I am so keen to come back and work with the School. "

Girls Enjoy Model UN Competition

Saturday, 01 December 2012

Seven pupils from Years 9, 10 and 11 from Bolton School Girls’ Division have achieved highly at a Model United Nations competition held at Stockport Grammar School, where they represented the countries of Pakistan and South Africa.

Mrs Rose Thornborough, who chose what committees the girls would form and took them to the weekend event, said: “The pupils really enjoyed themselves and I was delighted at how well they performed. These events stretch their minds – improving their research skills and their debating techniques.”

Model UN events are run regularly, with the Girls’ Division recently attending conventions at Cheadle Hulme School in October and at Withington Girls’ School earlier in the summer.
