Girls Enjoy Solving World Issues
Friday, 18 October 2013
Year 8-13 pupils at Bolton School Girls’ Division have been enjoying learning about and discussing international issues in their fortnightly Model UN Club.
Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda. This week the girls discussed the issue of Capital Punishment and pupils were encouraged to get involved and discuss the topic from their particular country's point of view.
Participants research a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and try to develop solutions to world problems.
