"There is no doubt this is a very special school with fantastic facilities and fantastic teachers who make all the difference. It's just a shame that every school in the country cannot be like Bolton School."

Girls in Top Ten at Chemquiz

Monday, 26 June 2017

  • Chemquiz - girls with prizes
  • Chemquiz - laboratory
  • Chemquiz - team in lab coats

A team of four Girls’ Division pupils took part in the annual Chemquiz, held at Manchester Metropolitan University. Victoria Cook and Maia Patel in Year 8, Nabilah Thagia in Year 9 and Emma Sellwood in Year 10 attended the competition.

The day was split into three sections: the lab exercise, the quiz and the practical demonstration followed by a comprehension. Each section had a prize winner.

The Girls’ Division team won the Quiz: a tough round split into separate questions for the two Year 8 pupils on each team and harder questions for the Year 9 and 10 pupils. Overall, the Bolton School girls came sixth out of 42 schools taking part, which is a promising achievement.

The Boys’ Division team continued their Chemquiz winning steak, achieving first place for the second year in a row.
