"Hesketh House (Junior Girls' School) is a magical place of adventure, discovery, learning, friendship and joy. The girls, albeit within a modern, disciplined, hard-working atmosphere, appear each evening as though sprinkled in fairy dust."

Girls Kick-Start Week of Football Festivals

Monday, 27 April 2015

Bolton School has hosted the third annual ISFA U13s Girls’ Football Festival. Over eighty girls in Years 7 and 8 took part in the event, which kick-started a week-long festival of football at Bolton School.

Canon Slade, ESSA Academy, Grammar School at Leeds, Liverpool College, Turton, Westholme, Westhoughton, and of course Bolton School entered teams. The Bolton girls played superbly throughout the day and ended up third in their league. Anna Phillips in Year 7 was particularly impressive, and was awarded a medal for her great contribution to the team.

Liverpool College’s A Team played Turton in the final. After a thrilling game, complete with a wonder volley, the Turton girls were crowned champions for the second year in a row.

The Football Festival continued on Tuesday with a fun participation event for girls and boys in Year 3 and 4 in the afternoon, and on Thursday with Year 5 and 6 teams competing for Boys’ A Team, Boys’ B Team and Girls’ trophies.
