A delighted Miss Marrs, who helps coordinate charitable giving in the Girls’ Division of Bolton School, has praised pupils and the wider School community for raising over £12,000 for various local and international charities. She said: “Highlights include the Year 13 leavers collecting toys on the last day for Bolton Toy Library, the Prefect’s Panto for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) Association, Year 10’s Christmas Post for Willink Biochemical Genetic Unit, Year 9’s Children in Need week, Year 8’s Apprentice Challenge for One Step and Cancer Research, and Year 7’s Sponsored Silence for Key 103’s Cash for Kids.

“School-wide, non-uniform days, music recitals and of course the iconic Ceremony of Carols, have raised money for this year’s Charity of the Term, Samantha Dixon Brain Tumour Trust, Muscular Dystrophy and St Ann’s Hospice, as well as Save The Children, Bolton Lads and Girls Club, Well-org and Luciana for the LivLife project in Tanzania. Besides all the fundraisers, many thanks too to all the Prefects and Mrs Bielby who double checks the money.”
