"When I return to Bolton School to talk to pupils about entrepreneurship, my message is to 'go for it'. This is an attitude that I had instilled in me during my time at the school where my curiosity was fuelled and I became interested in ideas."

Girls Shine at Star Ball

Tuesday, 08 October 2013

A choir of 30 girls from year 7 to year 13 were invited to sing to a packed audience at the Star Ball Hilton Hotel on Saturday evening. This exciting black tie event was held in aid of the charity NSPCC and the girls were asked to perform on their own and also as the support for the professional singer Janette Monroe.

The evening was hosted by the famous Christopher Biggins.

The entertainment was opened by the choir singing a beautiful and moving three part song ‘I am a Small part of the world’.  The soloists were Imaan Bhuta and Sara Crompton who opened and closed this piece. The girls then sang in harmony with Janette and performed ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’. An exciting finale was ‘Stronger’ by Kelly Clarkson.

The Hilton Hotel looked after the girls very well with a lovely meal and a treat of a goody bag of beauty products to take home. Mrs Vivienne Carter said: “It was a really exciting experience for the girls to sing in this venue and to support a professional artist.”
