"When I return to Bolton School to talk to pupils about entrepreneurship, my message is to 'go for it'. This is an attitude that I had instilled in me during my time at the school where my curiosity was fuelled and I became interested in ideas."

Gold Award for School Jazz Band

Sunday, 22 November 2015

On Sunday 22 November, the Bolton School Jazz Band travelled to Altrincham Grammar School for Boys to perform in the National Concert Band Festival (NCBF).

The group, led by Mr Wares, gave a well-polished performance, opening with Squib Cakes, then moving into Life of the Party, followed by Birdland and finishing with Mask of the Chilli Pepper.

A number of the students played solos as part of the programme, with the adjudicators mentioning those performed by Zoe Stirzaker, Jamie Gregson and Adam Whitmore as outstanding.

The Jazz Band was awarded a Gold Award for their performance, an outstanding achievement. Congratulations to all members of the Jazz Band and thank you to Mr Wares and Mr Spooner for their efforts in preparing the students for their NCBF entry this year.
