In spite of wet weather, teams came together today to play Lacrosse as part of Bolton School’s inaugural Lacrosse Festival. Primary schools in the Bolton area were invited to join the Junior Girls in an afternoon of Lacrosse training, followed by matches to determine which two schools will go on to play at the Greater Manchester School Games.
The event was run by Girls’ Division Lacrosse players from Year 9 and Year 10. These girls have completed an English Lacrosse Young Leaders Course in preparation for this event. The course has given them the skills to train the primary school pupils in a variety of Lacrosse techniques through fun games and challenges.
The Lacrosse Festival culminated in a round-robin tournament, and the teams battled it out with just five minutes for each match.
Saints Osmund and Andrew RC Primary School and Bolton School Junior Girls will now go through to represent Bolton at the Greater Manchester School Games.
