Johanna Has Kindle Book Published

Tuesday, 22 January 2013

Year 9 Bolton School Girls’ Division pupil Johanna Mercer has had her first book ‘Demon Rose’ published in the Amazon Kindle store.

Johanna got the book published with the help of her Auntie who advised her it is a good way to get your work noticed. It is now available for readers to buy from the website.

‘Demon Rose’ is aimed at teenage readers. The blurb reads: “When Jenny Westwood finds a rose on her front porch one morning, her life changes forever. What she hoped was a gift of love and appreciation was in fact the start of a dangerous and deadly life. With the help of her friends she battle’s through painful weeks; will they ever find an end to this treacherous nightmare? Will they all make it to the end alive?”

A review on the site reads: “I loved this book! I really enjoyed the plot and I was always wanting to read on. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasies. Amazing book, keep going!”

Johanna is working on five more books – ‘Death by Your Beloved’, ‘Ghost Boy’, ‘Unforgiveable’, ‘Vengeance’ and ‘April’ which she is writing with school friend Eleanor Bracegirdle, and hopes to have all of them published.

Johanna, who hopes to become a lawyer and part time writer, said: “I started writing because I had so many stories in my head and I wanted to write them all down into something more understandable. I didn’t think I had enough potential but my best friend Kirsty Fielding and my cousin Jake Lundy encouraged me.”

Johanna's book is available here.
