The first Senior Girls’ Music Festival was held on the 13th and 14th February. They were two very busy but enjoyable days of music making, with girls performing under different instrumental categories. These were piano, woodwind, brass, strings, guitar and percussion, and each was split into Middle and Senior school levels.
The girls’ performances were adjudicated by Miss Kristine Healy, who was impressed by the enthusiasm of all the participants. She said, “The level of commitment that each entrant demonstrated was really inspiring. I particularly enjoyed the fact that each performer also took the opportunity to appreciate the performances of her colleagues. Congratulations to all involved and thank you for an exciting two days!”
A celebratory recital evening was held on Wednesday 26th February in the Arts Centre. The girls awarded first place in each category performed in front of parents, and a fabulous time was had by all.
