The new Headmistress of Bolton School Girls' Division will be
Miss Sue Hincks who is currently Senior Deputy Head of The King's
School, Worcester.
She will take up her appointment in September 2011 when the
current Headmistress, Mrs Gill Richards, retires from the helm of
one of the most successful independent schools in the
country.
Sue Hincks obtained a First Class Honours Degree in Modern
History and Modern Languages, from Magdalen College, Oxford. She
remains a passionate historian and Francophile, as well as enjoying
the theatre and walking in the hills.
Sue said: 'I am honoured and delighted to lead the Girls'
Division. The School has an outstanding reputation and was
ranked as the top school in the North of England in the new league
table of pupils' performance in traditional GCSE subjects.
Academic excellence is complemented by an incredible array of
extra-curricular opportunities, which help girls realise their full
potential and build successful careers. The recent completion
of a new Infant School and Junior Girls' School and the plans
for the building of a stunning new Sixth Form make this a very
exciting time to join the School.'
The Chairman of Governors, Michael Griffiths, commented 'Sue was
outstanding during the recruitment process and the Governing Body
was unanimous in their choice. We are all very excited for the
future of the Girls' Division under Sue's direction'.
