Bolton School Senior Girls

Old Girl Shortlisted for MTV Student of the Year

Former Bolton School Girls’ Division pupil Jaiminee Patel has made it to the final 20 of the MTV Student of the Year competition.

Jaiminee, who left Bolton School in 2011, is in her first year of Business Management at King's College London. She applied to the MTV Student of the Year Competition hoping for the chance of winning a Summer Internship at MTV. She had to send in a video entry explaining why she deserves the title of Student of the Year which can be seen here. Applications were vetted by a panel of MTV and industry representatives looking for someone who inspires, excites and ignites on every level. Jaiminee has now been shortlisted to progress to the interview finals and now needs as many votes as possible to get through!

The competition searches for a youngster that best embodies the spirit and values of being a star student and is open to all students across the country.  From a positive and proactive approach, to passion, drive and creativity – they are looking for someone who is as digitally savvy as they are street smart and a team player. A mover and shaker who stands out from the crowd!

In return, MTV will offer a three-month paid placement over summer 2013 at MTV’s offices in Camden, as well two tickets to this year’s European Music Awards in Amsterdam, an Apple iPad mini and a £500 voucher towards a holiday of their choice. The total prize value for the winner is over £7,000. As well as one overall winner, four runners up will also receive a one-week work placement and a raft of MTV merchandise.

The deadline for voting is Sunday 9th of June. MTV will announce the winner during the week commencing 24 June and the winner will begin the three month work placement on 1 July. Get voting for Jaiminee!
