Two Old Girls of Bolton School have been included on Business Insider’s inaugural list of over 100 key female influencers in the North-West.
Nicola Rigby is a Director at Bilfinger GVA, a commercial property management and consultancy firm based in Manchester. Having gained a 2.i in Geography from the University of Newcastle and a 1st class Master’s degree in Town Planning from the University of Manchester, Nicola then worked her way up from work experience, through graduation to Director. In a recent interview for the School (which you can read here) Nicola said: “The role of a Director goes beyond delivering project work, with much greater emphasis on developing more work opportunities, and being more involved in the financial management of the team and business. I find this side of the role very interesting, but balancing it with client expectations, and meeting targets within the economic climate is a new - and big - challenge for me in my career. I am extremely proud to have worked my way from Graduate to Director within the firm. Reaching this level is a huge achievement for me, but hopefully not the end of my career progression. It’s a huge acknowledgement of the hard work I’ve put in though, and for now at least I’m reflecting on that and enjoying it!”
Another Old Girl, Claire Sofield, also appears on the prestigious list. Claire is Sales Director at Four Recruitment. The company specialises in finding accounting and finance staff across the North-West on temporary and permanent contracts. She is charged with developing and maintaining the firm’s list of clients across the North-West as well as managing teams in the Manchester, Bolton and Blackburn offices. The company has also recently launched two new sister companies specialising in accountancy and advisory recruitment and human resources.
