Wednesday, 27 June 2012
Year 11 and 13 students from Bolton School Boys' and Girls' Division have been showing their art work at the Best of Bolton Art and Design Showcase, hosted by the University of Bolton.
The exhibition was held in the Innovation Factory of the School of Arts, Media and Education at the University, and featured the best work from pupils from Secondary Schools across the Borough. The exhibition is sponsored by NADFAS who provided sponsorship for six prizes which were presented at the private view evening. Bolton School Year 13 pupil Claire Manley won the Best Fine Art prize.
Head of Art in the Girls' Division, Miss Fazackerly, has been involved in organising the event for several years, along with the Fine Art department at Bolton University. She said:"I am thrilled that the event was so well attended by teachers, parents and students on the night and the work is of an exceptionally high standard. This just demonstrates what a wealth of artistic talent there is across the borough of Bolton. Claire Manley thoroughly deserves the fine art prize for her excellent piece based on portraiture and Modern Graphic design."
Head of Fine Art at Bolton University, Alan Buckingham, said: "It was a terrific evening, and it went really well - it is so good to see all that talent and hard work by all the schools on show together."
The Best of Bolton School's Art and Design Showcase is open to the Public from Wednesday 27th June to Friday 29th June 10am to 4pm at the Innovation Factory Fine Art Studio on the University Campus.
