School Hosts Careers Campus for Local Primary Pupils

Bolton School recently hosted a Careers Campus for Year 5 and 6 pupils from across the borough. Twenty-six children in total signed up for this event.
The children did four sessions. There was a journalism task, a session which asked them to become graphic designers, an interesting exercise where they looked at interpreting and translating, and finally a session on being a vet. These were run by Girls’ Division staff and Sixth Form volunteers.
Miss Sarah Gorner, who organised the Careers Campus, said, “The event really gave the children the opportunity to think about the skills needed for these different careers and the types of careers they might be interested in. Our staff enjoyed putting together the sessions, and the children produced some very impressive work and clearly enjoyed their afternoon in school, particularly the facilities available in the new Riley Sixth Form Centre building.”
