Bolton School Girls' Division has been placed 82nd in a league
table of independent schools based on the 2010 GCSE results, as
released by the Independent Schools Council. 39.48% of all
grades were A*s and 73.57% of grades were either A* or A. It
places the school amongst a handful of high-achieving independent
schools in the North of England.
Headmistress, Mrs Gill Richards, said: "I am really pleased
that our students have, once again, performed so well in
their GCSEs; the results reflect how hard they and their
tutors have worked. It is good to be continually placed in
the top 100 schools and we have maintained this consistency
with our 79th placing in the Daily Telegraph's
league table for A level results. However, it needs to be
said that academic league tables reflect only part of the
Bolton School story as our offer encompasses a wide variety of
extra-curricular and social activities which helps build rounded,
self-confident young people."
The Boys' Division also performed exceptionally well and were
placed at 148th in the table. 33.28% of grades recorded were
A* and 65.01% were A* or A.
