School Stars in BBC Drama

Bolton School has played a starring role in the BBC's drama Last Tango in Halifax. The Boys' Division Great Hall, several classrooms and offices as well as corridors were used to represent a quality school in the filming of the romantic comedy series which stars Sarah Lancashire as Headmistress of a school.  Hundreds of pupils acted as extras in the assembly scene.

The filming took place earlier in the year and, at the time, the working title of the drama was Antony and Cleopatra. You can read an article about the filming here and you can watch the first episode on BBC iPlayer here
