Teachers Get Papped for European Day of Languages
Tuesday, 01 October 2013
Thursday 26th September marked European Day of Languages, a time to celebrate the 6,000+ languages spoken around the world, promote language learning and have some multilingual fun!
Bolton School Girls' Division staff and pupils had great fun celebrating the day along with a few well-known celebrities. The girls had to spot which multilingual celebrities were in school on the day and work out which languages they spoke by asking them questions in a number of different languages.
Samantha Tomlinson, languages teacher and organiser of the competition said: “There was a really positive atmosphere in school on the day. Both staff and pupils enjoyed using their language skills and were surprised to find out just how many celebrities spoke a second or third language and how it had helped them in a variety of ways.”
