Thea Selected for National Training Camp

Tuesday, 15 July 2014

Year 8 pupil Thea Simpson has been selected to take part in a National Academy Water Polo Camp!

At school, Thea plays water polo with the Year 8 Boys’ Division team. She also trains with a female team at the City of Manchester Water Polo Club. During a regional training event, she was talent-spotted and invited to the training camp at Millfield School over the summer holidays.

At the camp, Thea and the other trainees will be sorted into different teams which will allow them to compete alongside a new set of players and make new friends. These teams train together, eat together and sleep together for the duration of the camp.

The National Academy Water Polo Camp has been organised by British Swimming as part of their performance pathway for potential world class athletes. This is therefore a fantastic achievement and opportunity for Thea.
