On 4 December 2017, Bolton School will welcome Tomasz Schafernaker for a free public talk in the Girls’ Division Great Hall.
Tomasz is a meteorologist and weather presenter for the BBC. In 2017 a public vote named him the most popular weather presenter in the UK. He travelled to Florida in September to report from the middle of Hurricane Irma.
During his career, he has also worked for the Met Office and presented broadcasting projects for The Weather Channel, Discovery Channel and Channel Four. His talk will include some of the science behind weather prediction and anecdotes from his career as a weatherman.
This free event is open to everyone and will take place in the Girls’ Division Great Hall on Monday 4 December, beginning at 7.00pm. Refreshments will be available beforehand from 6.30pm. Parking will be available in the Girls’ Division Quad, which will be clearly signposted on the night.
