Girls in Y10 at Bolton School have raised an impressive £1,307.32 for Rossendale Special Ski Club. Race Coordinator Mrs Jenni Corr from the Ski Club offered all girls a “huge thank you” as she addressed their morning assembly. She told how the money raised will benefit young people with an intellectual or learning disability as well as their parents and carers. She also related her own son’s enjoyment of skiing and the stories of other athletes at the club, including their exploits at the National Championships and World Special Olympics. A selection of Y10 girls told how they had raised funds and why they had chosen to help the Special Ski Club.

The money was collected during and after the Y10 girls’ annual ‘Christmas Post’ event which is held in the last week of the Autumn Term. On the day, the girls entertained the whole school with an assembly which included skits where reality TV stars and pop singers rubbed shoulders with elves, reindeer and Father Christmas himself! The fundraising then came through cake and sweet stalls held during break periods.
