Y7 Form's Advent Calendar for the Homeless

A Year 7 Form at Bolton School Girls’ Division has certainly thought about others less fortunate than themselves this Christmas, turning their annual Advent Calendar sweetie treat into a helping the homeless endeavour.

Ordinarily, each Form collects a small treat or gift from every girl and these are re-distributed to a different member of the class on each day in December. However, Form 7C decided they would get enough treats and presents over the Christmas period so each of the 26 girls determined to bring in a new item each day which could be passed on to the local homeless. 

Alice Edwards, who came up with the idea, said: “So far we have collected a range of useful items such as gloves, scarves, hats, water bottles, flasks and writing materials. We are going to pass them all to Chesters Estate Agents in Adlington who will be delivering these and other items to Bolton Sunday Street Kitchen on Christmas Eve.”

Alice was sporting a new haircut having recently donated hair to the Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs to children suffering from hair loss due to cancer.
