Young Enterprise Girls’ Win at Trafford Centre
Monday, 20 February 2017
Luxe & Co, one of three Young Enterprise teams from Bolton School Girls’ Division that plied their wares at an intu Trafford Centre Trade Fair, won the highly commended award from the Young Enterprise Manager for Greater Manchester.
It is the fourth year in a row that the Girls’ Division has entered the Young Enterprise competition and this year there are four teams taking part, two in Year 12, Anime and Mugs Away and two in Year 10, Spa in a Jar (who did not go to the Trafford Centre) and Luxe & Co.
Each of the three teams set up their trade stand at the shopping centre to display their products. Team Mugs Away offered mug gift sets for different occasions, Anime retailed cushions, keyrings and pens based on computer animations and Luxe and Co displayed their jewellery. Each team had previously learnt about every aspect of the business, including branding and packaging, and had carefully considered their target market and their marketing strategies.
The Bolton and Bury Area Final will take place on 20 March and all the girls will have a stall, a business report and will produce a presentation. Two winners from this event will then go through to the Greater Manchester Area Final in May.
Young Enterprise is the UK’s leading enterprise and financial education charity and, each year, works with over 250,000 young people to help them develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need for work and for life.
