School to Host 2019-20 Historical Association Lectures

Bolton School Girls' Division will again host the local Historical Association lectures on the first Monday of each month from September 2019 - March 2020.

Each lecture will be held in the Sutcliffe Studio and will begin at 7.30pm. Car parking is available in the Girls' Division Quad. Bolton School pupils will gain free admission and there is a small charge for visitors. Full details can be found here.

Monday 7 October:  Professor Paul Withington, "Astrology and Popular Politics in 17th Century England."

Monday 4 November - 6.00pm: The Historical Association's Public Speaking Competition for 16-18 year olds,"The Great Debate."
7.30pm: Professor Mike Winstanley, "Did Shakespeare spend his Lost Years in Lancashire?"

Monday 2 December: Ms Polina Ignatova and Mr Steve Birkett, "History Shorts."

Monday 6 January: Dr Marie Molloy, "Necessity is the Mother of Ingenuity."

Monday 3 February: Professor Paul Ward, "Spring and Port Wine."

Monday 2 March: Dr Mark Hurst, "Putting Pussy Riot in Perspective."
