A Level PE Goes from Strength to Strength

The option of A level PE was first introduced to the boys at Bolton School 6 years ago, and is quickly growing into a popular and accredited subject.

The results over the summer were the best so far with 50% of A2 students achieving A*-A grades. Numbers are currently rising and the current crop of students is already showing a great deal of promise. The current AS students this year can also boast 3 GB water polo players, an England U-19 cricketer and players who have represented their counties in a variety of sports. In addition, both the AS and A2 groups have a student from the Girls' Division studying the course.

Boys' Division Head of PE, Mr Matthew Johson, said: “This is an exciting time for the subject as we are now currently attracting good numbers of sportsmen and women who have played representative sport to a high level whilst also achieving high academic results.”
